Right from my first phone call enquiring about wallacespace’s wedding offer, I felt Hannah’s warmth and excitement about what our day could look like at Clerkenwell Green. As two men getting married, one English and one Spanish, we felt both excited and a bit daunted by the chance we had to plan a day that was very ‘us’ – with our choice of traditions from both cultures. Hannah completely got this vibe, and helped us in translating this vision into practice. Practically, this meant lots of conversations about which parts of the building we’d use for which part of the day, what furniture we’d want where, what our ideal menu would be, what budget we had available, what guests would like to have behind the bar etc etc. This couldn’t be further from our experience of talking to other wedding venues, where the only choice offered to us was ‘would you like package A, B or C’? Wallacespace’s approach can probably be summarised through our menu planning conversation, when Phil (the Exec Chef) asked ‘where do you like to eat?’. Phil then responded with ‘shall I make their famous cheesecake for you for your wedding dessert?’
Our wedding day at Clerkenwell Green exceeded our expectations. We were fortunate to have a lovely, sunny, autumnal day. The penthouses looked absolutely fantastic, bathed in natural light, with guests enjoying the balconies to take photos and take in the London views. Hannah and the team MC-ed all of the getting our 80 guests into the right space at the right time beautifully, coped very well with unscripted speeches being made and delaying us eating, spontaneous singing of folk songs by some of our guests meaning tables couldn’t be cleared etc. No glass was ever left empty and food service was exactly the right blend of professional and discreet yet warm and friendly. Food was absolutely delicious, met the needs of some challenging dietary requirements and gained several ‘that was the best wedding food I’ve ever eaten’ reviews. Hannah’s suggestion of sharing plates for starters and desserts also really helped our guests to interact across the language barrier that we had on a few of our tables, and contributed to the informal, homely feel we hoped for.
We dropped into the venue several times through the planning process. These visits made the stresses of planning a wedding day genuinely enjoyable and quite refreshing, as it felt more like catching up with genuine friends than an event planning meeting. We always found the team to be incredibly interested and invested in helping us to plan a brilliant celebration, and that’s exactly what you delivered for us. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Clerkenwell Green for your wedding day.
Hope the above is helpful and THANK YOU again!!

We had the BEST DAY EVER, from start to finish at 18 Clerkenwell Green, you truly made it perfect for us, starting with our waiting room on arrival – The touches in there were amazing! It turned out much better than we first planned with a big wedding and a lot more people. Who needs a big wedding, ours was amazing the way it was! Thank you all as we were both very happy!
The organisation, catering, refreshments and attention to detail is amazing.
We’ve used this venue before and will definitely do so again in future as the experience feels so well organised and Penthouse A is so full of natural light and clean air and what a wonderful view!
It was a fantastic evening. All the staff were SO lovely and helpful and accommodating (and flexible too!) and it was an absolutely wonderful dinner, with fab vegan options and a great atmosphere. You have been so easy to work with and responsive and accommodating, it’s been very much appreciated!
The space was great, the design and the layout created a great atmosphere, and you and your colleagues were extremely helpful and always doing more than we actually expected!
Thank you for a beautiful venue and fantastic service. We were bowled over by your attention to detail (the space and food were great) and going beyond the call of duty.
